No elementary treatment of how to initiate use of the iPad -- missing what "Seniors" and "Dummies" need most to get started.

A good primer for beginners - regardless of age

The iPad is an iOS-based line of tablet computers designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The first iPad was released on April 3, 2010; there after came a number of different variants such as the iPad Air 2, released on October 22, 2014, the iPad Mini 4, released on September 9, 2015, and the iPad Pro, just to mention a few. By early 2015, there were over 250 million iPads owners. The consumer was sold on the ethos to put a great computer in a book form factor. The consumer could carry around with them and learn how to use in 20 minutes. The initial principle was that it would have a radio link in it so you do not have to hook up to anything – enabling communication with all of these larger databases and other computers.
For those of you who are entering the information superhighway late in life and have children or grandchildren who know more about “tablets” than you do, then welcome to the “iPad For Seniors For Dummies”. This title is also a good designed for beginners of all ages, and for those of us who have not grown up in a computer world. This is a rather useful guide for the uninitiated. What is here is a guide that is set out in an understandable form, and where the language is not too technical in nature. The Dummies guide walks you through, using a gradually methodology through the fundamentals, and gets you started on the right foot. A guide that tackles topics such as how to perform Internet browsing and e-mail communication, how to get social with your iPad, how to use iPad as “e-book reader”, how to play multimedia and browse photos collections, and play games.
As with all Dummies titles, the simple ethos is to give the reader a simple framework with layperson terms to work through and making the text and the information as reader friendly as it can. This title will be mostly enjoyed by those readers who know nothing or very little about iPad.
