This story (series) is awesome in all the erotic descriptive detail in their relationship!!!! The author is also very imaginative, the plot is wonderful too. You don't want to stop reading until the very end. I bought all the books at one time and haven't stop reading yet! I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE ENTIRE SERIES!!

Even after coming to terms with Ileana's lies and deceptions which ripped apart the relationship Kate and Matt shared Kate can't help but feel sick that the other woman's maneuvering actually worked. Now in addition to knowing about the betrayal, Kate's learned that Matt had actually proposed to Ileana after Kate disappeared from his life. What's worse, Ileana has pictures of them together shopping for a ring.

Matt admitted to a short romantic relationship with Ileana but claimed it was never anything serious - and he broke it off several months ago. If it wasn't serious than why did he propose to Ileana and while Ileana isn't above rubbing Kate's nose in the whole sordid affair and says she doesn't want Matt back, she does want the ring she returned to him.

Meanwhile Matt is completely oblivious to the doubts Ileana has put into Kate's heads and he's thoroughly enjoying the time he spends with Kate teaching her all about being a good submissive. She's everything he's ever wanted in a lover, sub and friend. Matt refuses to consider their relationship on a permanent basis and there's the evidence of a wedding proposal, to another woman, staring her in the face, what is she going to do now? Kate has to admit that the only thing that scares her more than her own submissive nature is a future without Matt.

Opal Carew's THE SUBMISSION really hits all the hot buttons. Anger, lust, love, betrayal and scorching sex blend together in a story that keeps the reader eagerly turning pages just waiting for the proverbal explosion. While Matt and Kate are infinitely loveable characters and make you want to believe a happy future is a possibility, Ileana is the perfect villain. You can just envision her in spiky heels with a snide smirk on her perfectly made up face. I dislike her intensely (obviously, right?) but then again that's the whole point. If it wasn't for people like Ileana we might not be able to see the value in genuinely good people like Kate and Matt. THE SUBMISSION is the fifth story in Opal Carew's HIS TO COMMAND serial novel. If you haven't done so already I'd suggest picking up copies of the other titles as well and reading them as well.

Relentless and Powerful Horror Stories

While H. Russell Wakefield is one of the most critically admired masters of the short horror tale, his work has nonetheless been almost completely ignored by publishers since his death in 1964. In the U.S., the only way to sample Wakefield's swiftly paced and terrifying tales is via this now out of print collection of fourteen stories, first published by Academy Chicago in 1978 and reprinted in 1982. (According to the brief but informative introduction by Richard Dalby, the situation in Wakefield's native Britain was even worse...his last book was published there in 1940!) Wakefield's taut and deft style can be reasonably compared to M.R. James, as his stories are often just as richly atmospheric and brooding. However, Wakefield multiplies the terror quotient a fair degree by relentlessly leading up to the kinds of horrific and often cruel endings that James usually avoided. While there are somewhat conventional ghosts in haunted houses ("The Red Lodge" and "Blind Man's Bluff"), Wakefield's supernatural interests ran a little wider than the title of this collection implies. "He Cometh and He Passeth By", arguably Wakefield's most acclaimed tale, is a small masterpiece of black magic terror featuring a particularly fiendish villain. "The Triumph of Death" is an unusually sadistic tale of vengeance. And the Lovecraftian, cosmic horror of "`Look Up There!'" packs a surprisingly potent wallop; this short tale about a man on holiday who becomes obsessed with a vision of something evil in the clouds shows just how frightening and disturbing pure suggestion can be. For the horror connoisseur with an appetite for unusual thrills, this collection is very much worth seeking out.

I love a man who writes a good haunted golf course story

In the introduction to this collection, editor Richard Dalby quotes M.R. James's reaction to Wakefield's first published anthology of ghost stories, They Return at Evening: "Mr. Wakefield," says the darling, dry Montague, "gives us a mixed bag, from which I would remove one or two that leave a nasty taste. Among the others are some admirable pieces, very inventive." Monty could just have well been referring to this volume, which groups together fourteen of Wakefield's creepy tales ranging chronologically from his first story, "The Red Lodge," to his last, "Death of a Bumblebee."

My introduction to H.R. came courtesy of the H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast, which featured "The Red Lodge" several months ago, and I was intrigued enough by the story to bother to hunt down this collection through interlibrary loan. The effort was certainly not wasted. While there is one confirmed stinker in the bunch (the aforementioned "Bumblebee"), the rest of the tales are at least entertaining, and a couple come close to brilliant ("Blind Man's Bluff"). In all honesty, I will admit that I would feel honor-bound to promote this book sheerly on the basis of it containing the only haunted golf course story it has ever been my pleasure to stumble across. And because Wakefield devotes not one but two stories to taking the piss out of Aleister Crowley, which just kind of makes you want to buy the man a beer.

Wakefield served in the Royal Scots Fusiliers during WWI and lived in London during the Blitz. War pervades his stories, sometimes to great effect, as when it serves to mentally disarrange his narrators just enough to make them susceptible to the supernatural, sometimes to their detriment (Have I mentioned the "Bumblebee"?). Whichever it is, Wakefield tells his tales forthrightly, with none of Lovecraft's adjectival overabundance, and only waxes ever so slightly poetic when discussing mathematics or chess. His tales are far from perfect - there's a tendency to tack awkward explanatory codas onto the end, and the tone toward women will make your eyes roll - but he manages, now and then, to evoke a sincere shiver. Admirable and inventive, indeed.

Powerful stories

I really enjoyed these ghost stories. The first story, "The Red Cottage" nearly gave me nightmares. Interestingly, some of the descriptions Wakefield uses for his ghosts show up in another ghost story I'm reading, Affinity and I'm enjoying the synchronicity between these two books. The introduction to the story collection says that Wakfield was a contemporary with Lovecraft and it shows in his stories, in the subtle way he turns the oridinary into the extroridinary and ultimately into the horrific. I find that his shorter stories pack more of an emotional punch than his longer ones. His best stories are the ones that stay under twenty pages. The longer ones lose their pacing. He doesn't throw in enough smaller scares in to compell rapid page turning. Nonetheless, stay with the longer stories and enjoy the endings. They all do satisfy at their conclusions.

Schwager covers a whole lot of material

Very comprehensive book. Much if it is difficult to understand. Excellent writing, the clearest in the business, but author gets into some complex info. I feel he is not always fair in giving credit to other authors.
One side issue, a book this costly and technical should have a durable binding. Mine fell apart the first time I opened it. It's glued together like a paperback novel.
All in all it's the most complete single source I have seen in the commodities trading field, even includes chapters on economic theory. It's worth the price. Info on fallacies in fundamental analysis (reading the news) is unique and helpful. Also lots of very wise trading tips

Excellent, down to earth explanation of commodities trading

Information for the beginner, then moves into detailed examples and explanations for the advanced trader. Covers futures, options, analysis, spreads and more. Well written, concise, easy to understand. An excellent book for reading and ongoing reference if you're serious about the commodities markets.

A Complete Guide to the Futures Markets

This book is a must read for anyone interested in starting a trading business. While it is an old book it provides an excellent and objective look at the different methods of analysis (Technical and Fundamental.) The emphasis is on the futures market. In my view it provides and excellent introduction to this market but, I find the techniques applicable to stocks and currencies.

I only wish I had discovered this book 15 years before.

The Devil's Arguments, In His Own Language

In the forward to this remarkable book Milosz writes that he wants to give the totalitarian point of view "in his own words, from his own point of view." The result is this ambitious, fascinating tour of the human mind twisted by the lies of the culture that surroundes it. It's a schizophrenic place that resembles the scarier novels of the noir writer Jim Thompson. There's nothing solid to cling to; everything dissolves into fear and loathing. Milosz turns his poetical gifts to the case studies of several Polish intellectuals who became entangled with the Communist party. Milosz doesn't name them but one is clearly Tadeusz Borowski, the author of the Holocaust short story collection "This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen." The title of that book in Polish was "The Stony World", which reflected how Borowski, an Auschwitz survivor, came to see the world--as dominated by force, without effective moral constraint. Milosz depicts Borowski as a man who sought shelter under the protection of the strongest earthly power available--the Communists--but was unable finally to justify the price of that loyalty (he committed suicide.) What keeps someone from succumbing to "Ketman" (the two-facedness that Orwell called "double-think?) Milosz implies the answer is religious faith, which allows one to trust in an objective truth beyond the lies and terror of the stony world (he was a devout Catholic.) This book is a must read for anyone who wants to keep the world from stealing his soul.

Hack Attacks Encyclopedia is a collection of hacker goodies in print and on CD-ROM. Gleaned from file repositories old and new, the collection includes handy, potentially naughty utilities--process listers, password crackers, and port scanners, among others--and scores of text articles. The text articles explain how to extract value from systems of various kinds (mostly the North American telecommunications network and various kinds of computers). Reading articles about how to get free calls from (1980s-vintage) payphones is interesting, and articles (some quite old) written by hackers about themselves and their community reveal a lot of truth.

In order to appreciate this book, you have to take note of the word History in its subtitle. That word appears because the articles in this book, though many of them make excellent reading, deal largely with old technologies and well-known attacks for which defenses now exist. Interesting problems that contemporary hackers may have solved--such as how to get free satellite Internet access, how to defeat ATMs' "service fees," how to defeat password protection on Windows XP, and how to get an overwhelming number of positive reviews to appear for your book--aren't covered. This book is all about the exploits of the past. Articles about how to get free phone calls on old pulse-signaling public phones aren't of much practical value anymore, and viruses for the Amiga computer are of purely academic interest these days (though virus source code, several examples of which appear here, shows up in few other books). Therefore, don't buy this book so much for how-to information as for its history lessons and entertainment value. Read it for its first-hand look at hacker culture.

That said, Hack Attacks Encyclopedia would be a lot better if John Chirillo had looked at his considerable collection of text files and software and unified it with a running narrative. Good historians and documenters of cultures don't just present primary sources without annotating them. They use their knowledge and skill to derive meaning from the primary sources, and perhaps make some predictions about the future. --David Wall

"We're sure someone's thought of this idea before, but it took John Chirillo to pull it off: an encyclopedia of 30 years of hacks, cracks, phreaks, and related endeavors. Yes, there's now a single authoritative reference for all of it.
Hack Attacks Encyclopedia starts back in the mists of time, chronicling John Draper's long-distance telephony adventures as Captain Crunch (that is, before he wrote Easy Writer, the original IBM PC word processor). If you were too young for the '60s or early '70s, Chirillo quotes some anarchist texts that put you right in the spirit. His timelines and narratives then take you through "the golden age" (1980-1989); "the great hacker war" (1990-1994); the age of "zero tolerance" (1994-1999), and beyond the millennium.
Of course, the heart of the book isn't the narrative. Together, the book and CD-ROM assemble nearly 2,000 historic texts, program files, code snippets, and hacking/security tools -- files as old as the '70s and as new as tomorrow's headlines. You name it: password programs, Unix/Linux scripts, remote hacks for Windows systems, scanners, sniffers, spoofers, flooders, keystroke capture programs, virus hacks -- not just one variation but many. Hands down the best book available on infosec

Well constructed text all about cyberculture and the dark underside of security. Within I found writings by Cap'n Crunch (famous phreaker), Justin Peterson, Kevin Mitnick (hacker celebrity), Kevin Poulsen (aka. Dark Dante), L0pht and Masters of Deception (famous hacking groups), Mixter (author of Targa and TFN), and Robert T. Morris, just to name a few. To think there's much more in here makes this book hands down the best title on infosec available today.

Youll love this book!

Revealed gave me a good understanding of the network security. This is the first book I've ever read from the Wiley series. I now know where to turn if I want to get going on something fast. In conclusion this book might not make you a master at hacking but if you want a good foundation and methodoligal approach, take a look.
Denied is the second part to Hack Attacks Revealed, over 500 pages, whose value is in the patches for all the security holes illustrated in the first book. The CD is loaded with compiled programs for securing systems, building firewalling devices, and secure browsing, telnet, ftp, chat, and mail. Again, there are extensive walkthroughs which makes it unique in this category.
Encyclopedia is something completely different. The book is a look at hacking and cracking and phreaking and some I haven't the title for, all from different user submissions from all over the globe. I rated high Revealed and Denied, but this book is much better organzied and a pleasure to read.

Peter Hurford was born in Minehead, Somerset, and studied initially with Harold Darke. He read both music and law at Jesus College, Cambridge University, subsequently obtaining an enviable reputation for both musical scholarship and organ playing. Marc Delisle was awarded "MySQL Community Member of the year 2009" because of his involvement with phpMyAdmin. He started to contribute to the project in December 1998, when he made the multi-language version. He is still involved with phpMyAdmin as a developer and project administrator.

Marc is a system administrator at Cegep de Sherbrooke, Qu�bec, Canada. He has been teaching networking, security, and web application development. In one of his classes, he was pleased to meet a phpMyAdmin user from Argentina. Marc lives in Sherbrooke with his wife and they enjoy spending time with their four children.
